2010 Cameron Hughes Lot 362 California Blend
Not one of Hughes' best. The first night was ok. Second, meh. Down the bottle on opening.

2011 Meritage Lot 383 by Cameron Hughes
Bold and dry, this French lot has that distinctive old world taste. This one has a big fruit flavor, but is a little punchy, so get one and let it sit for a year. Enjoy the much improved structure in 2014!

2012 The Honey Pot by Stellenbosch, South Africa
While dedicated to reds, occasionally I branch out for a promising white wine. "The Honey Pot" I saw and had to try just for the name. Like a true honeypot, however, it led me on with its pretty label, then left me with the lingering taste of sour apple. Disappointing, but truth in advertising.

Christine, you are a life saver! This saved us from the Cab Franc. Much improved complexity and flavor over the night's prior selection.
